ALDO1 MY22 version was a test sample before release, and the actual sale of ALDO began with MY23 version (start to selling 2023). At that time, the MY22 version was provided for testing to many riders and YouTubers, and it is true that the quality of product was slightly lower than the actual product released because it was a test version. However, in the ALDO1 MY23 version that was actually sold, most of the problems that occurred in the MY22 test version were improved, and it was a safe wheel that passed both objective UCI impact test and ISO durability test.

Moreover, this year's newly released ALDO2 has a similar appearance to ALDO1, but it is a completely different wheel from the carbon fiber used to the parts used. Even some of the things that were not improved in ALDO1's hubs and parts were completely changed in ALDO2 to prevent the problem that has in ALDO1 anymore.

We will show a comparative pictures of what has changed and what has improved in below.

1. RIM INTERIOR

When removing the airtube inside of rim after molding, the residue remained inside of the rim in the ALDO1 MY22 version. Immediately after the launch of ALDO1, we changed the molding process to physically remove the tube, and this problem completely disappeared now.

2. BED SPOKE HOLES

For the ALDO1 MY22 version, we were testing it at the time, so the process for ALDO carbon molding was not fully established, so there were some products with carbon lifting or cracking on the tire bed, and some of them were not properly organized after drilling the spoke holes. This problem was improved in the actual MY23 sales version , and now you can see the fully improved holes and beds.

3. CARBON LAYUP

While ALDO1 aimed to increase rigidity in all areas by using 3K carbon fiber as the main base inside, ALDO2 was built with a new TORAY T1100 carbon as the main base inside to maintain rigidity and reduce weight through optimization of carbon layup. In addition, the resin shortage, which was a problem in the ALDO1 MY22 test version, was completely improved by receiving carbon prepreg and resin directly from TORAY, and RC (Resin Contents) used more than 36% prepreg.

4. 3rd Gen. CARBON SPOKES

One of the biggest differences between third-generation carbon spokes is the shape change of the parts that connect to the hub. While the spoke heads were round until the first and second generations, the third-generation carbon spokes had a T-shaped head, preventing the spokes from being tension loosen or misaligned during riding, which is one of the chronic disadvantages of conventional carbon spokes.

5. SPOKE END

The 3rd-generation spoke changes are also made in the spoke thread connected to the rim, unlike ALDO1, ALDO2 is made to allow the spoke thread to inside of rim, which is different from normal carbon spokes, and this form has an aerodynamic benefit as the spoke end protruding outside the rim is removed.

6. CHANGING HUB

While ALDO1 hubs have been built for common carbon spokes, ALDO2's hubs are dedicated to third-generation T-head spokes, and simplifying hub shell structure and improving ratchet structures for greater performance.
